This event is geared toward helping low-income students transition to college, by providing some of the essential things that every college student should have.
Some of these items include notebooks, folders, pens and pencils, note-cards, sticky notes, and a planner. Being able to provide the most basic school supplies for a student, rather than them figure out how to purchase these things on their own, makes the transition to college much easier.
First generation students especially will benefit from having these supplies given to them. Their parents may not know what types of supplies they might need to succeed in college, and if we can help alleviate some of that stress off the parents, we are glad to.
