Science concepts like force and motion, the solar system, and plant and animal systems are difficult for small children to grasp without hands-on experiences. First graders rely heavily on their five senses to understand the world around them - simply reading about how things work isn't enough - they need to see, hear, and touch with their hands to fully understand these concepts. They can use the magnetic blocks, K Nex building sets, and magnets to explore these concepts through play and experience. For our animal and plant units, they can observe live creatures and the plant life cycle.
By donating to this project, you'll be helping my first graders grow and nurture a love and understanding of science. By working with these sensory-heavy materials, in addition to written materials, students will be more engaged and excited about learning!
