My students experimented with being able to choose their work environment this year and loved it! Students were working together and learning from each other. They are learning problem solving and responsibility. Right now, I have regular chairs, old stools, and carpet spots for seating. I would like to expand those choices by offering flexible seating that is comfortable and beneficial. Wobbly stools and balance balls would be a great addition to our classroom!
Why flexible seating? Here are some benefits of flexible seating:
-using up excess energy.
-increased motivation
-increased engagement
-better oxygen flow to the brain
-improved core strength
-better posture
