The majority of my students are English Language Learners from diverse backgrounds. My students love to learn and get excited when they share a text or an article they all have read. Through out the year, students are always reading Fiction books, however, when it comes to Non Fiction our selection is limited. Most of the nonfiction books we have in our library are either to hard or not interesting to a 4th grader. My students have always loved Scholastic News articles. Every time they would see me hold a new copy of the article, excited whispers would spread across the room. Once they would receive the article, there would be silence in certain parts of the room, while others would go to a different section of the room and partner read. In the end, everyone was talking to each other about what they have read. It was amazing to see how motivated and excited they were to discuss the articles. My students were also excited to take it home and share it with their parents
