We use pencils, glue sticks, dry erase boards, and dry erase markers daily. These are great tools for students as they use a variety of problem solving strategies and allow me to monitor student understanding as we work. Students love using these during whole group, small group, and independent activities. Because we use these materials frequently, and some families are unable to provide school supplies, we need extra materials to avoid the distraction of searching for a new marker or pencil in the middle of an activity. The learning games I have requested, including Can Do! Reading Games and Math Equivalency Puzzles, are excellent for centers and are very engaging for my active, hands-on learners.
