As a relatively new STEM class, we are slowly building our library of hands-on material for all grade levels. My students need a greater variety of these materials to first explore, then combine to design solutions for given problems. By having a few sets of each of the materials - Texo, Strawbees, Power Clix, and Snap Circuits, they will be able to choose the materials that best fit the challenge or problem that they are given.
Each grade level will have a new material to add to their library of materials. Kindergarten students will be using the Power Clix to build on their knowledge of shapes and apply that to design. First grade students will use the Strawbees. Second grade students will use the Texo. While the third grade students will using the Snap Circuits to broaden their understanding of circuitry and alternative energy.
