Each day when I am working with one small group of students at a time, I have the rest of the class doing Daily 5. One of the Daily 5 choices is Listen to Reading. During Listen to Reading a small group of students will listen to a book on CD. Listening to a story helps to increase a students' fluency and comprehension.
With this listening center, CD player and headphones, I will be able to provide my students the opportunity to hear a story read to them. Many of my students do not have books at home and struggle with fluency and comprehension.
