Do you recall writing in elementary school? For many it’s a tough job, and seems impossible to even begin. You finish your paper after struggling through it, feel confident to be finished, only to have your teacher tell you what needs changed and send you back to work.
This summer I set out on a goal to make writing enjoyable, attainable, and a positive experience for my students and myself.
We will focus on our strengths and weakness using the six traits of writing as our guide and common language and learn to enjoy, not dread, the writing process.
We will learn from research based, engaging lessons that are modeled through children’s books, and write many different types of writing in response to reading.
We will keep it engaging by bringing topics from all subjects that fit the students’ interests, state standards, and current events.
