At 8:30 am the morning bell rings and I am greeted by 13 smiling faces ready for another day in 2nd Grade. They arrive at school excited to learn and eager to take on the challenges of the day ahead. Within minutes, the room is buzzing with seven and eight year olds talking about what they did last night and giggling over things that only they would find funny! 2nd graders love exploring and questioning what they are learning. They come from many different backgrounds and bring different perspectives to our daily reading,math, science, and social studies discussions whether it is in whole, small, or in partner groups. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Each child steps into my classroom with a different story, but everyone's journey has a common goal: to be the best learner he or she can be.
