Milwaukee School of Languages is a 6-12 immersion school in the Milwaukee Public School District. All of our students take a language (French, German, Spanish, Japanese and hopefully Italian in the future). Many students are full immersion students who have studied their language from kindergarten on. I teach English language arts and social studies to approximately 175 students. Throughout the school year, my students are learning about the Jewish Holocaust in both ELA and history class. My students are a great mix of cultures. The diversity in our school is amazing. I try to relate the Holocaust to current genocides in the world and to the life students live in a large urban inner city. I have amazing students who have a real thirst for knowledge.
