We want to build a STEM Starter Kit for our school! With the Lego WeDo set young students are introduced to robotics as they build and program kinetic models complete with working motors and sensors. With the circuitry kits they'll learn about electronics and put together their own FM radios, digital voice recorders, and more. And with the machine-building components they'll be thrilled to explore mechanics as they experiment with ways to make model boats, planes and cars powered by simple rubber bands or sophisticated solar or battery-powered motor systems.
We see creating a STEM kit as integral to our goal of preparing our students for success in middle school, high school and college. The in-depth, hands-on explorations made possible by these tools would help prepare our students for careers in this growing field. The National Science and Technology Council stated that “exposure to STEM during early childhood is critical to establishing an optimal educational trajectory.” We want to start them on the right track!
Thank you for your generosity and support!
