This rug will be the centerpiece of our classroom. It will serve as a space to encourage and cultivate cooperation, collaboration, and a sense of community in students as we work together to explore and investigate learning materials, throughout the year. The rug that I have chosen allows each student to have their own space while also promoting skills such as teamwork, listening, and respect for others, as we will typically work in a large group setting during carpet time. Your donation to this project will help foster and develop relationships and skills that students will need not only throughout their educational journey, but also throughout their lifetime as continuous learners, future employees or employers, and successful contributors to society. We will use the rug to explore various skills through the use of technology via the Smartboard, as well as through meaningful, hands on learning experiences. The rug will establish a sense of community in our classroom as we start and end our days on the rug together as a class. Your contribution to our classroom will allow us to work together as a team to inspire educational and personal growth and development in a clean, comfortable, and familiar space.
