The addition of the swings will provide the vestibular input for our students. The play houses will help to block extraneous sensory input and allow the students to regulate. The PVC pipes will allow us to build a tent into which our students with wheelchairs can block out external visual stimuli and allow them to focus in on tasks within the tent. The Hugglepods will create a low sensory input zone and an enclosed safe space. The addition of each of these components to our classroom helps to find alternative locations for our students to regulate. This should help us find ways for them to meet sensory needs and to teach them how to self-regulate and recognize when the need arises.
