My ELA students show great progress when they have access to books on their levels. I take time throughout the year to assess each of their reading levels. This provides the information I need to place them with other readers on their level. Our school does not have as many titles as necessary to accomplish this with all the different reading levels in our room. Reading is our window to the world! Please help provide them with choices that they find interesting. The better choices I have to use during our small group instruction, the more engaged the students are in learning. This time is essential to incorporate the reading strategies we are working on. It helps all the levels in our room to progress. This allows them an opportunity to go to places that they may not otherwise get a chance to physically go to.
