Over the last few years, I have noticed that students have been getting distracted easily. In order to accommodate my students' needs and give them a learning environment, I would like to incorporate flexible seating in my classroom. Flexible seating is a classroom management technique that allows students to make choices about their learning environment. Some students like to sit in chairs, where other students would rather sit on the floor or a wobble seat. Giving students the choice of their seat in the classroom gives the students a chance to make an independent decision that will keep them focused more.
The seats that I have asked for will allow for students to have movement and in return be able to focus on their task at hand. An example of some of the seating I would like to have are wobble chairs and balance balls. These types of seats allow students to fidget with their seats so that they can focus on their work.
