The manipulatives that I am asking for will allow my students to learn new self help and academic skills in a fun and exciting way. Some of the items that were requested are educational games that will teach my students important social skills such as learning how to take turns and manage emotions. Social skills can be hard for children with Autism to learn and engaging materials help with this.
One key skill that is important for my students to learn is how to complete multi step tasks and develop determination in approaching hard activities that are presented. Aside from the games that were requested, I also am asking for fine motor manipulatives. These items include puzzles, lacing trays, and sorting games. Many of my students need to strengthen the muscles in their fingers so that some day they are able to write and these activities help build these muscles. Preschool is a time when students explore, create, and learn and the items that were requested will allow my students to do just that through puzzles, games, and art supplies. Thanks for considering my extra special request!
