The goal of this transition in my classroom is to help foster the learning of my students, by giving them opportunity to take the driver's seat in their learning aspirations. By creating a learning space that is completely student centered, it will increase their performance and desire to learn new concepts.
Learning is not an option, but the location as to where my students choose to have their learning occur can be very much up to them. By having this type of environment it will allow students with very high behavior and emotional triggers know that they are completely in control of selecting their work space each and everyday. This relaxed environment will encourage student to collaborate with one another on an academic level, to learn and understand new concepts in various manners. The environment will also allow students the ability to connect as learners on a social level, to communicate and problem solve in partnerships or in groups, which greatly impact them in the present and in the future.
About my class
