My students will use the iPad to complete required reading and math computer programs. The Special Education Department has purchased curriculum for our special needs students for the 2017-2018 school year. Some of the new curriculum will require a computer or an iPad to complete the programs. Our county will be using the Lexia Core 5 Reading Computer Program and Front Row Computer Program for Math.
Our class needs the iPad in order to provide the students more technology in our classroom. Some of my students have difficulty sitting at a computer for any length of time, and their performance is enhanced by being able to sit on a pillow on the floor to complete their computer assignments. A new iPad will help to facilitate meeting the needs of our students.
Having a diverse class means that we must do our best to meet their needs. Having new technology available to our students will motivate and encourage our students to complete their computer requirements.
