This learning easel will greatly impact my students learning. The easel provides an accessible location for students to access leveled readers based on their reading level. There are many struggling readers in my class and this will provide them the opportunity to select books at their reading level.
The easel is mobile and can be moved around the classroom. During small group instruction students can gather around the board. It will be used to model lessons and provide a place to create anchor charts to keep track of our strategies and skills. I will be using the board to pose questions so students can come up to the board to answer questions and interact during the lesson.
The board is also magnetic and can be moved around and used during center rotations. Students will be able to use the magnetic board to learn phonics and phonemic awareness skills. Due to English being a second language for many of my students this will provide them the opportunity to manipulate sounds and letters and build new words.
