Technology is the driving force behind education in today's society. Many students in our district are fortunate to have 1:1 technology in the classroom. This is imperative because many live in poverty and do not have access to technology at home. This being said, the only time they get to use Chromebooks is while in class and learning to use a track pad can be a challenge.
While the benefits of technology in the classroom do not need to be explained, there are ways to cut down on frustration. Having a wireless mouse will give students the opportunity to better use their Chromebooks in class. A traditional mouse can easily be lost or broken with the extra cord, so wireless is the way to go in the classroom.
With the benefit of 1:1 technology comes the issue of storage. While outside the charging box, students are responsible for keeping their Chromebook at their desk. With books and supplies in side the desk, storing inside the desk is not an option. My hope is that having the storage on their seats, students will not have the distraction that comes with keeping their Chromebooks on their desks.
