I am building a separate classroom library exclusively for independent reading texts. The library I have planned will look like it was created by the students because that is how it will function best. Students will use their Lexile (reading) levels, combined with their interests, to choose independent reading texts. This section of our classroom library will house texts read exclusively for enjoyment/interest. I know the students will love these books, and by ordering several of the same titles, I hope they will talk about the books with others who made the same book choices.
