My number one goal as a teacher and school counselor is to teach my students to be kind to themselves and to others. All students, whether in kindergarten or twelfth grade, need to be reminded to be accepting of themselves and others. I will be working with students in kindergarten through fourth grade. An effective method of teaching these students acceptance is through books and social stories. Instead of me just telling them they should be kind, they can learn through stories. These books will help classroom and school culture and will create a community that is centered around kindness.
