The 5 SPRK+ robots, along with the Bebop drone, will allow me to integrate an interactive STEM curriculum into my science classes. We have lots of laptops at our school but we lack the kinds of resources like these to create amazing learning experiences for students. I like to do Future Friday days and I have learned that my students are incredibly interested in careers in engineering and computer science.
We are educating a new generation of scholars and we need to be really intentional and innovative with the technology and the lessons that we plan for kids. Robots, Coding, and Drones are at the heart of that!
The SPRK+ robots will be integrated into my classes for our Future Fridays as well as when we are discussing the ways in which Biotechnology is impacting our world. We already take advantage of the Day of Code and other opportunities to introduce computer science and this will give us another chance to engage and learn coding.
We will also utilize the drone in different sections of the curriculum including our unit on Ecology and Plants. The drone, like the robots, will serve as real-world and hands-on experiences with STEM resources
