I am desperate to give my students (particularly my English language learners) access to technology so they can begin their school experience with integrated learning from the get-go.
Technology will allow me to consistently differentiate my instruction and assessments, provide endless math and literacy games and resources, and allow for at-home collaboration with Google Classroom.
Above all, I want my students to have access to technology so they are expert users from the start of their educational careers. Being exposed to technology in the classroom is the very first step. I plan to use these six Chromebooks as a learning center, where groups of students can engage and create multimedia projects, collaborate on documents, and use programs (like Raz Kids) to enrich their reading through visual and auditory means. I'd also like to provide technology so my students can do work around Critical Media Literacy—looking at, dissecting, and creating visual media that addresses social justice themes.
