As we are embarking in our new Dual Language Program at our school, we need to create an additional Kindergarten class which will have regular instruction in Spanish most of the day.
That is why we need educational and instructional materials in Spanish to support the development of our students´ literary and language acquisition in this language.
We have managed to gather most of these materials already, but we are still lacking a student leveled library.
That is why the materials I have chose for this project are leveled books that the students will be using during the day (as part of the LA part of the day. I am planning to use them on workstations time, guided reading time, homework, independent reading time...). Having a library in the classroom that the student are able to use will give them more opportunities to develop their reading. Our students will benefit enormously by having daily access to books that they can read independently at their own level.
By providing them with this opportunity, we will not only help them to improve academically, but also to instill their love for reading.
