With the focus of curriculum moving more towards Reading and Mathematics in the past few years, there has not been much room left in the budget for Science materials. My students had the chance to work with a SmartMicroScope this year through a grant. Unfortunately, I had to send the microscope back by the end of the school year. My students loved looking at Science experiments and content under the microscope. Since the microscope has the ability to take photos and videos, I was able to share our learning on our GoogleClassroom so that families and students who were absent could experience what we were doing.
Science is an all-encompassing subject that helps students get engaged about learning and understanding the world in which they live. This microscope will help clarify content knowledge and allow for the use of technology integration.
