These geometric shapes and differently textured objects will help to stimulate their sensory receptors as they feel edges and points and faces of real classroom examples.
My students can only touch and hear their world. They have very limited vision and are nonverbal. They learn about their world primarily through listening and touching, since they are nonverbal and visually impaired.
Right now, they mostly listen to videos from youtube and various public educational formats. I want to reach their tactile input with different shapes and sizes of real objects used in math and science classes. With COVID and online teaching, we can use these tools to engage such students in their homes. It also gets the parents involved as they do the actual manipulation with their child with virtual instruction from the teacher.
