One of the biggest areas my students struggle with are word problems. As a teacher we want our students to be confident in their work. For many of my students, they are confident with the basic concepts of a math unit, but once these concepts are applied to a word problem they become defeated.
I want my students to be confident regardless of the content! When my students feel comfortable with a concept, I feel like I have done my job. I am asking for manipulatives to help pave the road to mathematical success! These manipulatives are, compasses, dry erase boards, dry erase coordinate planes, and dice. With these items, my students will be able to attack a word problem head on with confidence and fluency.
