Our students receive resources as provided through Title I funds and if they qualify - special education funds. However, students who do not receive special education services are without some of the great resources that can be extremely beneficial to their progress in the classroom setting. I have witnessed students doing very well using noise canceling earphones, yet these earphones are not readily available to the general education population. I am reaching out with hopes of getting 4 noise canceling headphones to address students who have difficulties focusing due to noises/distractions within he class.
As a veteran classroom teacher, I understand the importance of allowing children the liberty of learning within groups to promote student based learning. However, this type of grouping may be too much for a young learner to manage when his/her task requires them to focus.
