Flexible seating has been a game changer! I want to give students more choices than the floor, a few foam mats, and scoop rockers. Last year I saw a need for more movement while working. I want to purchase items that will last longer than a year and can withstand daily use!
Flexible seating + student centered activities = more teaching and less redirection! Flexible seating in class creates a culture of respect and puts the students in charge of their learning! Allowing students choice in where they will work and what space is best for their learning increases collaboration and focus.
The chair and couch will be a wonderful area that looks like home! In this area, students can read or work with partners. Where do you like to read at home? On a stiff chair or your couch? A comfortable couch and chair will be an inviting space for my kinders who are just starting to discover a love for reading.
Wobble seats incorporate movement and allow kids to wiggle and wobble while working! Many of my students don't want to stop moving from the time they walk into the classroom until they leave at the end of the day. Wobble seats give them movement while they learn and work to complete activities!
Soft seats are sturdy cushions for students to sit and read, work on projects, and interact with their classmates in small groups.
