My students have been working hard on basic math skills such as number demands, number recognition, and counting. Being able to use technology paired with hands on manipulatives will help take their learning to a new level.
My students love to rotate through various hands on stations to work on both math and reading skills. I would love to refresh our materials by bringing in this combination of technology and manipulatives. Students will be able to use so many skills in addition when using the Osmo program, including fine motor and spatial reasoning. By having a set of iPads dedicated to our class my students will be able to utilize these materials as often as time allows! This is great learning opportunity many of my students otherwise wouldn’t get to experience.
With these Osmo kits and iPads students will play a numbers game to practice numbers and number sense, while making math creative and fun. They will also be able to manipulate tanagrams to create new shapes and pictures. This will give them visual problem solving skill practice. With the letters game students will be able to practice various phonics skills.
