I work at a Title I school where 100% of our students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Some of my students participate in an after school program where they receive a hot meal before going home. We also have a clothing closet that my students can shop in once a month to get three free outfits and a pair of shoes.
My classroom consist of eager and enthusiastic children who love to learn. For a majority of my students, this is the first time they are in a classroom setting. I want to provide more hands-on resources for my students to master the standards in reading and math. Most of my students do not have basic skills needed when they enter into kindergarten. I want to provide them engaging resources that help them master the standards in a fun way. It is important for me to provide this for them and I want them to have a strong foundation when they go to first grade.
