Research has shown how incredibly effective flexible seating is in the classroom for ALL learners. Students are more successful when they move frequently, have choice in their day, and are in a space to collaborate. 25-30 Students spend 6+ hours in a small classroom space and need to be able to move, stretch out, work in different areas that encourage brain stimulation. Diverse learners are exactly that-diverse! Having a classroom where students can pick the spot that will support their learning and help them reach their full potential is without a doubt an essential component to student success. Students will be able to choose traditional desks, small tables on the floor using stability disks, wobble stools at a table, floor cushions, bungee chairs, rocker chairs, and yoga mats. Students who need to move and get sensory input to support their learning needs will be able to have many options in our classroom. These materials will last for many, many years and many classes of learners for years to come will benefit from these flexible seating options. Please consider donating to my 2nd grade students. These possibilities for my unique learners are extremely exciting!
