Students will be able to play dress up in multicultural costumes as well as community helper costumes. Their activities will be enhanced with literature that helps students understand multiple perspectives. Students will be able to create dialogue for plays that allows them to pretend to be adapt the traits of another person. There is no stronger way to create empathy and tolerance than to become another person.
Students will be able to produce plays and create books tied to the theme of empathy and tolerance. Their final productions will be photographed and printed out on a color printer. We will be able to create class books that students can refer to for to continue building tolerance throughout the year.
