This flexible seating project will help my students tremendously!
Most of my students have a hard time focusing and being still during critical classroom instruction. They especially have a hard time during small group instruction because the attention is all on them. Research says that giving students the opportunity to sit in their choice of seating improves their ability to focus. I would like to cater to the diverse needs of my students by offering them different seating options. I have to try something different this year to meet the needs of all of my students. I plan to start small and implement flexible seating at my small group instruction table because this is the place where my students get most of their critical instruction. If all goes well, I plan to incorporate flexible seating throughout my entire classroom in the future. With this flexible seating my students will be able choose the type of seating that works best for them in order to maximize instruction time. The school day begins at 7:40 and ends at 3:25. This make for an extremely long day. My goal is to make my students comfortable so that they will be more engaged in their learning.
Flexible seating would make our classroom environment conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Your donation would make coming to school a awesome experience! Thanks in advance!
