My students love the idea of money. However, at 3rd grade, they do not have extensive experience with it. My students live in a high-poverty area in the inner-city. Very few students arrived the first day with all the necessary supplies and all of them receive free lunch. Many have difficulty coming up with $2.50 for a field trip. However, they have a strong belief in education and are eager to embrace every opportunity given them.

About my class
