My students are always vying to sit on the one pathetic, deflated bean bag we currently have in our classroom. Why? Because it's a better alternative to the hard-backed chairs of which we have enough for everyone. Squirming and constantly getting up to move around is a distraction for everyone in the class, so we are seeking a seating solution.
We had a discussion on how to improve the situation, and students easily reached a consensus that softer seating would help them stay focused for longer periods of time. Therefore, I am creating this post at their bequest. We chose eight bean bag chairs (enough to meet the seating needs of everyone) and picked out the brightest, most energizing color available. We also found some pretty amazing dry erase lap desks that we are all excited to use in class. Together, these additions to our classroom are sure to make learning a more enjoyable experience. We will all be tracking progress towards reaching our goal. Please help us get comfortable seating by the start of the new school year!
