I am requesting materials for my students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade to learn and create using the printmaking process. Printmaking will teach my students to appreciate artists of various styles and to appreciate an art medium that is very popular in our culture today. My students are from a Title I school, and it is important for them to learn about art mediums that are not only beautiful but also practical.
Gelli plating is the type of printmaking my students will be learning. This type of printmaking allows for many applications of hands-on art. We need printing plates, printing ink, paper and stencils. I want my students to have this opportunity to learn about all processes of art!
