Battle of the Books (BOB) is a reading incentive program. Students read from a list of ten books and come together in groups of five to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read through a friendly competition. The winning team from our school will compete against eight other area schools.
Battle of the Books really fuels the competitive reading fire at my school. Our goal is to bring the trophy home again this year! In order to do that, we need several copies of the BOB books for students to read, analyze, and dissect.
Besides comprehension, this program teaches students sportsmanship, collaboration, creative thinking and problem solving skills.
