Donations from this project will give my students the power of choice. Students will be using the balance balls, active learning stools, stackable stools, and soft seat cushions as flexible seating options in my classroom. Flexible seating helps switch the classroom from teacher centered to student centered. It allows students to make a seating choice that will help them become better learners and ultimately increase motivation and enhance learning.
Students who are comfortable are happy, relaxed, and engaged. As my students learn and grow, flexible seating gives them the option for movement without distracting from their learning. This choice will undoubtedly help my first graders focus in the classroom.
