I became a teacher because I believe the most exciting and important work I can do each day is to help young people grow. My learning experiences in school have been some of the best parts of my life, and teachers have been essential parts of my growth and development as a person. Like so many other teachers in my school, I do my best to offer uplifting support and encouragement to students each day.
Even though many students in our school face poverty, trauma and chronic stress, they show up each day full of hope and excitement for another day of learning and community.
And even though teachers feel great pressure to meet a wide range of needs and to help students reach high academic standards, we do our best to remain caring and calm adults for our students, tuned in to their needs and keeping a safe, engaging, challenging, and orderly learning environment for everyone.
About my class
