Many of us can remember growing up and having fun board games to play with friends and family. You may remember how much fun they were, but did you know that playing board games actually has tremendous potential for positive family impact?
At KPEA, we strive to encourage family engagement and provide opportunities for family strengthening. We aim to meet this priority by hosting family game nights throughout the year.
Playing games with family provides many benefits for students as well as family:
-teaches good sportsmanship
-fosters skills that are transferrable to the classroom (communication, strategizing, problem solving, following directions, focusing, and using social skills)
-provides quality time for bonding with family/friends
-creates fun, positive memories!
We hope to provide these game nights to families of students in grades K-4, free of charge for these very reasons! I ask for your partnership to make this opportunity a reality for our families, and thank you in advance!
