Book bags allow students to take home books from the classroom and be able to read at home and share the stories with their families. Many of my students are unable to read because the tell me that they don't have any books at home. This would be a great solution to that problem.
Students will have an opportunity to choose books to take home each week and read them with their families.
Students' literacy skills grow exponentially when they can read everyday at home. Students that can read 20 minutes a day will read 1,800,00 words in a year. Bringing books into the home will give students this opportunity.
