Our school is in a high poverty neighborhood and 100% of students receive free and reduced meals. My fourth grade class is made up almost entirely of students of color, including English Language Learners who speak languages including Spanish, Haitian Creole, Russian and Cape Verdean Creole at home. They are incredibly eager learners who make progress each and every day.
My students are capable of making educational growth at the same pace as their peers.
However, one of the biggest barriers I've seen to their growth and advancement is access to appropriate tools, supplies, and technology that supplement the curriculum and their learning. Join me as I work to give my students the love and support they need and deserve!
