Our school is part of a major urban public school district. A majority of my students are English Language Learners from Central and South America and 100% of them qualify for free and reduced-price lunches. We are also becoming an inclusion school, which means that many of my students have an Individualized Education Plan. Our "Keys to Success" are Respect, Responsibility, Commitment and Knowledge and students work hard every day to follow these ideals. Although we lack funding for all of the things I would like to provide for my students, we enrich their educational experience as much as possible every day through connections with the community and resources purchased by teachers.
