This funding will help create a collaborative group study/meeting room that will benefit the students in many ways. Research shows that when comfortable and outfitted with writeable surfaces, these rooms attract students who may be otherwise reluctant to get involved in group projects. We anticipate that the students will use the table to work out problems, troubleshoot ideas, map out strategies and complete assignments. We want to provide a welcoming, modern work space on campus, as not all students have the resources to meet at a trendy coffee shop. We want a space where students will want to collaborate, become a community of learners, facilitate discussion, and socialize with their peers. Finally, this will be a flexible work space with an interactive table and comfortable chairs, accessible by students, staff, faculty, and parents.
