I am a first-year teacher, and I want to start my career off right by meeting the diverse needs of every individual. When students enter my classroom, I want them to be excited and feel like they can escape any problems going on outside of school. My goal is for students to choose how they sit each and every day. The traditional classroom does not meet the needs of students today. Research shows that when students are given options to sit comfortably, they are more likely to maintain focus and remain engaged on their academics. I believe that flexible seating will make a difference in each student's attitude toward school.
