There is nothing like sharing a powerful book with your students! It is so important to me that my students have easy access to books that they are passionate about reading. This project will not only give my students access to wonderful new titles, but it will provide multiple copies of a book which will allow them to work in teams to compete in a 'Jeopardy' style competition at the end of the school year.
One of the best and most influential ways to make a difference in student's reading achievement is to increase their enjoyment and engagement of reading.
A reading competition such as "Battle of the Books" along with a variety of relevant and recently released award winning books will get our students excited to read all year long.
