These materials will enhance the environment and allow the students to explore STEAM and facilitate learning through exploration. Giving the students the materials to enhance their learning will make them more confident learners and allow them to learn in a classroom that has all the essentials for success. Creating an environment for reading, writing, and play will produce readers and writers. Creating an early foundation will help the success later in learning for all students. The goal of the project is to complete the classroom for 8 learning areas that include math, science, literacy, reading, dramatic play, sensory, art and creating, and building.
Some of the materials I have listed will help facilitate an environment for learning; the book corner nook will allow the students comfort and privacy to read and look through books and literature activities without students interrupting. The outside chair/nook will allow the students to have a small space for shade and a place to rest during outside activities. The sensory items, such as play dough, sand, and fingerpaints, allows the students to explore with sensory materials and learning through play and hands-on manipulatives.
The items for this project will enhance the classroom environment and give the "at-risk" students hands-on learning they need to gain the foundations of learning and help get them ready for kindergarten.
Thank you for your support in the Learning through exploring project.
