Students will get to fully experience the life cycle of a chicken. This will stay in their memory far longer than just reading about chicks in a book. My students flourish on hands on experiences that provide them the opportunity to be part of their learning. Hatching eggs is a project that brings so much excitement to life science and school in general. Students look forward to coming to school to check on their eggs. Hatching eggs goes beyond life science. It motivates students to write and read about the life cycle of the chick. Raising chicks also teaches empathy. Student deeply care about how their chicks are doing.

About my class
